More food parcels than ever collected by Lions
On behalf of the Lions Club of Maidenhead may I thank all the wonderful people of this area who so willingly gave us food and donations for Maidenhead Lions annual Christmas parcel project.
Not surprisingly in these difficult times, there has been a bigger call than ever for support, and local people came up trumps with donations of more food than ever. We are most grateful for the continued co-operation of Waitrose Maidenhead, and Sainsbury’s at both Maidenhead and Taplow, where we collected food over two weekends; £101.11 was also donated at Taplow. The Windsor branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild kindly donated magnificent Christmas cakes.
Finally a special thank you to Claires Court Schools for the use of their gymnasium where the parcels were assembled, and to sixth-form students and staff who helped us make up a record 390 food parcels last weekend.
On behalf of all members of the Lions Club of Maidenhead, may I extend seasonal greetings and our best wishes to everyone in the area, and our thanks for your wonderful support during the year.
