Friends to take part in 58-day prostate cancer charity walk
A veteran Ascot estate agent and a courageous campaigner battling cancer are among those taking part in a fundraising 1,000 mile walk.
Father-of-two Alan Carr, 56, who lives in Windsor Road, Ascot, ran Carr's estate agents for 20 years in the village.
Now he is fundraising consultant for the Prostate Project charity.
He and Nigel Lewis-Baker, 66, who is battling prostate cancer, will join other supporters on the 58-day walk from Lands End to John o'Groats from March 21 to May 17.
The walk will raise money for the charity's £1m fundraising appeal.
Alan said: "A man dies of prostate cancer every 50 minutes. It kills more people than breast cancer."
During the walk supporters will be stopping off at several key cities, including Bradford - which is home town to the Royal Borough's mayor Cllr Asghar Majeed.
Cllr Majeed welcomed some of the walkers to the Guildhall in Windsor on Saturday, January 28.
