Angry scenes expected at village meeting tonight
Angry scenes are expected at a village meeting tonight to discuss plans for a stopping point for boats on the river.
Datchet parish councillors wants to replace the two rotting wooden jetties on the riverbank at Windsor Road, Datchet, while adding a third alongside them.
They envisage a permanent future for the riverbank as a mooring spot for river users.
Supporters of the plan believe it will boost business in the village. But opponents say the calm of the riverside and the attractive views will be destroyed. The parish council is having a public meeting tonight at 7.30pm at which all interested parties will be able to state their views.
