Flood warnings issued for Datchet

gen_floodingSandbags are being handed out to some properties in Datchet which are at risk from flooding.

The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for a small number of low-lying properties in the village.

A Royal Borough spokeswoman said: "The council is supporting residents identified by the EA as at risk and will supply them with sandbags.

"The council's sandbag policy gives further information about eligibility. The council is in close liaison with the EA and has staff on the ground in Datchet."

The warning was issued at 4.24pm today for the River Thames at Datchet including Slough Road, Eton Road, Horton Road, Frogmore, Datchet Golf Course and Datchet Common.

It follows Saturday's warning from Datchet to Shepperton Green including Old Windsor, Wraysbury, Horton, Staines, Egham, Laleham and Chertsey.
