Victim may lose an eye after drive-by catapult attack
A man in his 40s was attacked with a catapult in Datchet.
He was wearing glasses and the missile from the catapult hit his right lens, smashing it and sending shards into his eyeball.
It happened at about 8.20pm in Holmlea Walk on Sunday.
The attacker drove by and used the catapult to attack the victim, who was taken to Wexham Park Hospital and then transferred to Royal Berkshire Hospital for surgery on his eye.
DS Peter Wall said: "This was a nasty attack on a man, who may lose his eye because of the injury sustained in this incident.
"This took place while it was still light in a residential area, so we would urge anyone who was around at the time and may have seen something to contact us as a matter of urgency."
