Debt charity moves in to aid struggling residents
Rev Louise Brown and Nigel Williams
Christians Against Poverty is setting up shop in All Saints Church in Dedworth Road under the management of Vale Road resident Nigel Williams.
He says that a spiralling number of people in the town are not eating or sleeping properly because of money worries.
Father-of-three Nigel, who is a veteran of the town’s King’s Church, said: “I’m talking about people who are under real stress, bailiffs at their door, facing threats."
“But everyone has some income, however small. We can help in nine cases out of ten.
The debt centre is being run in partnership between King’s Church in Frances Road and All Saints with the support of Rev Louise Brown.
Call the charity’s helpline on 0800 328 0006.
