Good turn-out at Dedworth clean up day
Everyone turned out to clean up when the borough-wide Adopt a Street scheme reached Sawyers Close.
The scheme has been a great success in encouraging people to tidy up their roads across the Royal Borough. But it was the second attempt at Sawyers Close, Dedworth.
Residents association chairman Carol McCall said: "The first attempt was cancelled because there wasn't any litter."
But on Friday human nature had reasserted itself and there was plenty of rubbish for children of all ages to collect, using three sets of litter picking equipment donated by the borough.
There were plenty of community and safety officers as well as PCSOs (Police Community Support Officers) to supervise and ensure the operation was a safe one for the younger participants.
Carol said: "Everyone enjoyed it so much they want to do it again."
