TV causes Boxing Day flat fire

A TV caught fire yesterday causing extensive smoke damage to a Dedworth flat.

Windsor fire service were called at 3.08pm to a ground floor flat in Filmer Road, along with an appliance from Slough.

A fire spokesman said: “The lady who lived there saw the fire start and tried to put it out herself.

“Then she decided to get out which was the right thing to do.”

He said the flat suffered minor fire damage but the smoke damage was prolific. No-one was hurt.

The firefighters were at the scene until 5pm.
