Store granted permission to sell alcohol
Alcohol will now be sold at a convenience store in Sunningdale after the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead gave it permission to on Tuesday.
Applicant Tirlok Gulati, the owner of Dale's Local, in Coworth Road, was given the go ahead by members of a licensing panel sub committee at the Windsor Guildhall.
Mr Gulati had wanted to sell liquor Monday to Saturday from 10am to 10pm, but reduced selling hours voluntarily to 9pm after some residents expressed concern.
Alcohol will be available to buy on Sundays from 9am to 9pm.
Alan Barwise, team leader of licensing at the Royal Borough, said: "There was half a dozen or so objections from residents and even families with children there.
"The residents understood he wanted to sell alcohol, but did not want it too late as it is a very family based area."
