Happy snappers rewarded for photo competition efforts
Winners of an inaugural summer photography competition run by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have received their prizes.
The competition, organised by the council's Community Safety Partnership, challenged entrants to illustrate what their local area means to them.
The winning efforts were celebrated in the Mayor's Parlour at Maidenhead Town Hall yesterday.
All three of the adult winners came from Maidenhead, with Beth Powell taking first prize for 'In the bleak mid-winter'.
Runner up was Amanda Finch with 'Hey ho! Hey ho! It's off to work we go', while Adrian Workman was highly commended for 'Rowing on the river'.
The winner of the under 18s category was 14-year-old Emma Carter from Sunningdale with her entry 'Hair-raising fun at Sunningdale Carnival'.
Runner up was Oscar Gilbert, six, from Wraysbury with 'Family nature walks in Wraysbury', while Maria Cresto, 11, also from Wraysbury, was highly commended for 'Wraysbury Windmill'.
Prizes included framed copies of their winning photos and a glass trophy for the overall winners.
