Shopkeeper is injured by raiders in Wraysbury robbery

gen_policecarRaiders who threatened a shopkeeper with a metal bar escaped with cigarettes when their victim was unable to open the till.

Two men wearing balaclavas burst into newsagents Wraysbury News in Staines Road, Wraysbury soon after 5.45pm last night. One was carrying a metal bar.

The men demanded the shopkeeper open the till but it got stuck and he was unable to. They pushed him to the floor and filled a bag with cigarettes before leaving the shop.

Detective Constable Sara Harrison said: "The shopkeeper has sustained some injuries from where he was pushed to the floor but these are not thought to be serious.

"I would like to speak to anyone who was in the Staines Road area yesterday evening, who may have seen these two men prior to the robbery or afterwards as they fled the scene."
