Music from the movies and a traditional classical repertoire featuring singers from the West End will entertain crowds at this year's Maidenhead Carnival. International singers John Langley and Jayne O'Mahony will be headlining the carnival concert under the direction of Cookham born pianist and producer Toby Cruse. The annual carnival is one of the biggest events in the town's calendar and will be coinciding with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Diamond Jubilee Pageant organisers confirmed today that the event will go ahead despite the adverse weather conditions. But the main show car park which is on grass will not be open tonight because of the weather. Visitors are encouraged to travel to the show by public transport - both Windsor stations being within easy reach of the ground.

Former TV fitness star Lizzie Webb drew the public ballot for tickets to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on Wednesday. The ballot was drawn at the Berkshire Community Foundation in Theale for a chance to join 4,000 guests with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at an official Diamond Jubilee Party in Henley on June 25.
