Hundreds pay tribute to beloved photgrapher
Hundreds of people have paid tribute to a pillar of Maidenhead's community who passed away just after Christmas.
Family and friends packed out Bray Church on Thursday for a memorial service for Raymond Thatcher.
About 300 people from as far afield as France, Switzerland and Devon attended as well as famous Maidenhead resident Sir Nicholas Winton, 102, who was a great friend.
Mr Thatcher's son Neil gave a moving eulogy, talking of his 'immeasurable love ' for his family.
Friend Susan Fleck sang his favourite piece of music 'Panis Angelicus'
Long-time friend John Miles-Griffiths followed with another touching eulogy saying his memory will be kept alive by his photographs.
The memorial service was proceeded by a private cremation in Caversham.
The renowned photographer, who ran his business from Maidenhead for more than 50 years, died on December 29 after a battle with cancer.
Wife Maureen has described him as her 'soul mate' and many others have expressed their love and admiration for the Rotarian.
