Opening of More Arts Twyford
A community art space has been officially opened in an empty shop unit in Station Road.
Twyford MP and Home Secretary Theresa May was on hand to cut the ribbon at More Arts Twyford on Friday October 14.
"This is a great initiative which brings a new dimension to Twyford," she said.
"It ensures not only that a shop is not left empty but also that art, and mainly local art, is brought into the heart of the village."
The lease was secured by The Cultural Partnership, also known as More Arts Wokingham, which is working together with local artists and the Twyford Village Partnership.
The space will be used for ongoing exhibitions by professional artists from the area, as well as by local art groups, students and other clubs and societies.
There will also be a program of workshops for the public.
The first exhibition at the shop opened in September and runs until Thursday October 28.
