Windsor FC snap up striker Phelan
Windsor FC have added to their attacking options with the capture of the powerful striker Leeyon Phelan from Combined Counties Premier Division rivals Hanworth Villa.
The ‘target man’ style forward has scored 14 goals so far this season for the Villains and will provide competition for the likes of Ryan O’Toole, Michael Chennells and Yash Romeo.
Windsor boss Keith Scott is delighted with the signing and says Phelan will add something different to his title-chasing squad.
He said: “I’ve seen him play and Jim Melvin has seen him play twice. He’s different to what we’ve got.
“What Leon will give us is more of a target man option.
“He’s a big strong lad who holds the ball up well and knows where the goal is.
“I think he will be a good signing for us. I look at my striking options now and I think I’ve got a good complement of players.”
