WRAYSBURY'S Chilterns League Division 1 campaign goes from strength to strength as they followed up last week's eight-wicket success with a 154-run win over Littlewick Green on Saturday. Winless Green were bowled out for a paltry 77 after a precise effort from the visitors.
The clash began promisingly for the Green who dismissed Wraysbury opener Stefan Grosvenor for nine after which they chipped away at the visitors’ batting line-up.
Matthew Ward (41) stood firm as others faltered, but it took some consistent runs from the middle and lower middle order to take Wraysbury to a decent 231 all out in 47 overs.
Skipper Andy Prasad (23), Raheel Yasin (36), Asim Ibrahim (39no) and Iffy Wain (25) all put bat to ball effectively.
Ross Albertyn (5-57) was the leading wicket taker for the Green, while Evan Gill (2-44) and Will Brockwell (2-55) also took wickets.
The reply was a disaster for the hosts who limped to 77 all out in 22 overs with only Richard Thomas (13), Simon Fuller (15) and Brockwell (18) reach- ing double figures.
Wraysbury’s Naim Baig had a field day, taking 5-18 from seven overs, while Ibrahim (2-20) and Grosvenor (2-19) also bagged wickets.
Wraysbury earned 30 points to the Green's five.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Wraysbury face their toughest challenge of the season when they entertain in-form Binfield.
