A rising magic star pulled a rabbit out of the hat by winning a prestigious trophy.
Dean Leavy, 16, who lives in Upcroft, Windsor, competed in two competitions run by The Young Magicians Club on Sunday.
He scooped third place in the Mark Leveridge Close-Up Competition and won the Alakazam Home Counties Stage Trophy.
In his winning act, The Windsor Boys’ School student performed a set of miraculous manipulation where he somehow managed to turn one billiard ball into five.
The competition, which took place at The Magic Circle headquarters in London, required entrants to perform their acts without speaking.
Dean said: “It was a tough challenge because I had to try and capture the audience’s attention but if I can do that without words then it can be more powerful.
“It’s a massive competition which I’ve entered the last three years and haven’t got anywhere.
“Hopefully this will open a lot of doors and the title is quite prestigious so it could definitely be a pathway to other things.”
President of The Magic Circle, Scott Penrose, presented the awards to Dean after the competition.
He also won The Young Magicians Club Member of the Year award.
