Service station allowed to serve hot drinks all night

Service station allowed to serve hot drinks all night

The BP service station in Maidenhead Road, Windsor has been granted an all night 'refreshment licence' by councillors.

But worried neighbours concerned that noisy revellers might be attracted to the 24 hour station had their anxieties calmed when the Royal Borough's Licensing Panel met at the Guildhall on Friday to discuss the issue.

The petrol station does not have a licence to serve alcohol. The new all night licence will merely allow night time attendants to pass hot drinks through the hatch to petrol buying customers, who are not allowed into the main building at night.

The law insists that the serving of hot drinks from a machine must be covered by a licence between 11pm and 5am if customers are handed the drinks by staff.
