Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead Cllr Colin Rayner has paid his best wishes to the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced yesterday they were expecting their first child.
Kate, 30, was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in central London with acute morning sickness, where she is expected to stay for several days.
Mayor Rayner said: "I am absolutely delighted to hear the good news.
"On behalf of the Royal Borough, I send the couple our very best wishes. I am sure they will make wonderful parents.
"Our prayers and thoughts are with the Duchess during her stay in hospital and we wish her a good and speedy recovery."
The royal baby will be born third in line to the throne, after Prince Charles and Prince William.
