The sixth Windsor gym and dance show had an Olympic feel to it yesterday.
The eight schools taking part at the Windsor Leisure Centre in Stovell Road yesterday got together to perform their own 'opening' and 'closing' ceremonies, utilising flags representing the various nations and values of the 2012 Olympics.
They had been choreographed by the dance group 4Motion from the Firestation Arts Centre in Windsor.
The show was staged by the Windsor Sports College which is based at the Boys School but involves 22 schools across the Royal Borough. Middle, upper and primary schools from Windsor plus the youngsters from Charters School in Sunningdale were the stars.
Each of the schools had prepared their own performances, mixing dancing skill with breathtaking athletic moves.
Claire Yeoman, the development manager of the Sports College said: "We even had cheerleaders this year and two special guests in the audience, Samantha Quek and Ashleigh Ball from the Great Britain hockey team just back from Argentina."
Samantha and Ashleigh are likely to be Olympic competitors this year.
