A mystery oil spill is threatening swans on the Thames at Windsor.
The spill - which looks like a mixture of diesel and engine oil - was spotted at about 2.45pm near the children's playground on the riverbank, floating down the river adjoining Barry Avenue towards Windsor Eton Bridge.
The area is heavily populated with swans and Wendy Hermon from Swan Lifeline in out in a boat, hoping to rescue swans who might get into difficulty because of the oil.
She said: "We hope as many volunteers as possible will be able to get out to help. The Environment Agency is coming down to investigate."
