A 103-year-old woman was surprised with a birthday party on Saturday.
Freda Weyan, who has lived in Windsor for the past 15 years, was joined by around 40 family and friends for a party at the Oakley Court Hotel in Windsor Road.
The birthday bash was arranged by her daughter Helga Currie, 75, from Maidenhead.
Freda lives at Willows Riverside Park and visits Windsor Day Centre once a week.
Helga said: “She had all the things when she turned 100 like a letter from the Queen and she’ll get another letter when she turns 105. She said to me ‘I don’t know whether I can wait another two years.’
“The party was a total surprise, she didn’t have a clue. The hardest bit was getting her to wear her party clothes so I told her we were going to meet some friends from Poole.
“I took her in and everybody was there clapping, she couldn't believe that I’d done something so big.
“She loves Oakley Court and we often go up there, that’s why I chose it.”
