Competition will see children design artwork for Royal Ascot

A new art competition for children will be launched on Saturday, February 17.

The Ascot Schools Art Competition will give children the chance to see their work displayed in the Ascot Heath Tunnel at the racecourse ahead of Royal Ascot 2018.

Pupils from four to 11-years-old from 12 schools have been invited to submit their artwork under the theme ‘A Celebration of Royal Ascot’.

Winning artists in each age group will receive a cash prize for their school as well as Toys’R’Us vouchers to spend themselves.

On Saturday, February 17, the first race has been named The Ascot Schools Art Competition Novices’ Hurdle Race in celebration of the competition.

The racecourse will also welcome headteachers from some of the participating schools, to present the trophy to the winning connections.
