Crowds lined the streets of Windsor on Saturday afternoon to watch the iconic Lion Dance parade take over the town for the second year.
After entertaining thousands in St Ives Road in Maidenhead, a team of 38 students from Eagle Claw Kung Fu School arrived to kick off their performance outside Windsor Castle’s main gate.
Ribbon-twirling dragons and four lions were just some of the highlights from the parade, which also saw guests enjoy some thunder drumming.
The parade made its way down Peascod Street, entertaining many along the way as they celebrated welcoming the Year of the Snake.
Shifu Julian Dale, owner of Eagle Claw Kung Fu School said that alongside Maidenhead, the team also ‘gave an amazing performance in Windsor’.
He added: “We were granted special permission to start right outside the [Windsor] Castle main gate and perform [the] Lion Dance there.
Windsor was packed from the castle all the way down the high street with crowds enjoying the spectacle.”
Julian added that the organising team is looking to grow the Windsor event over the next few years.
He explained that the team at Eagle Claw Kung Fu School practise ‘all year long’ for the event and are ‘very happy’ about how well attended it is.
