New Yummy Bites Cafe opens at former Teapot site in Maidenhead town centre

The owner of a new café in Maidenhead town centre has revealed plans to expand the offering to include traditional Indian dishes.

Yummy Bites Café opened its doors earlier this month at the site of the much-loved former Teapot Café at Market Hall in King Street.

Owner Jasmeen Kaur previously worked in a restaurant and said it was her passion to cook and serve people that was the driving force behind her opening her new café.

The 27-year-old Slough resident said she first had the idea to set up her own café around a year ago and was looking for a location.

She chose Maidenhead because she liked the area and its town centre location.

Jasmeen said she feels ‘happy’ to take over the location of the former Teapot café.

Similar to its predecessor, the cafe’s menu features items such as full English breakfasts, sausage sandwiches, bacon sandwiches, teas and coffees.

Diners can also build their own breakfasts.

“We are serving burgers, and from next month, we [are] going to introduce some curries, like lamb curry with rice as well,” Jasmeen said.

“I want to serve English food and Indian food

together.”

The café will introduce a mixture of Punjabi and South Indian food.

Some of these items will include samosas, pakoras, idli dosa and sambar.

“I love to make these things,” said Jasmeen.

“Personally, I am from [the] Punjab, but I love to eat South Indian food as well because it’s simple and delicious and healthy as well,” she said.

Jasmeen added that customers are ‘happy’ to come into the café and ‘like our food as well, because the prices are reasonable’.

“We are very confident about the things which we are serving and people like those things as well,” she added.

“We were very happy when we opened it.”

The cafe is currently open from 8am to 6pm, but from Monday, it is due to open from 7am to 5pm, seven days a week.
