Singh Sabha missed the chance put more pressure on league leaders Delaford, but extended the title race for another week with a 0-0 draw against the table toppers.
Delaford remain firm favourites for the league title after hanging on against Sabha, although they will feel that they should have done more after the away side were reduced to 10 in the second half.
The returning Charlie Samuel got the first chance of the game for Sabha, but he could only snatch his shot wide of the target after being found well by Pritpal Raju.
Delaford grew into the game and began knocking at the Sabha door but some resolute defending from the visitors kept the league leaders at bay as the sides went into the break level.
The second half saw more of the same as the game continued at a frantic pace but neither side could find the killer edge, skewing shots wide of the mark on numerous occasions.
Sabha did have the ball in the back of the net when Jagdeep Bhullar fired home but his effort was disallowed for offside. Sabha were then made to hang on as Raju saw red for his reaction to persistent following on him as neither side could find a winning goal.
The goalless draw means that tomorrow’s rematch at the Sabha Centre is vital if Sabha want to continue the title race. A win or draw for Delaford would wrap up the title but a home win would swing the pendulum in Sabha’s favour.
