Marlow men’s 1st team finished the MBBO Regional 1 season on a high with a 6-1 win over Eastcote. With 16-year-old Harvey Loretto outstanding on his debut they played some excellent hockey.
Lorreto all but opened the scoring but teammate Lewis Goodman stole in to touch his shot home on the goal line.
Goodman scored twice more in the rout but could not displace James Ward as the team’s top scorer this season.
Louis Cardinouche was also on target twice as was man-of-the-match Pat Staal, and the result saw them finish the campaign in seventh.
The men’s 6th team, who secured back-to-back promotions last week, smashed top of the league Wootton Wanderers 2nds 7-0 on Saturday. Ewen Hunter grabbed a hat-trick while Tim Frost bagged two, with Will Peacock and Fin Anderson rounding off the scoring. It was also a productive end to the season for the 4ths, who finished their campaign third, and the fifths, who achieved promotion after finishing top of the table.
