Marlow Hockey clubs U14 girls put in a strong showing at the Nationals in Reading at the weekend, and their hard work and effort saw them finish fourth in a very compeititve tournament.
The girls faced three qualification matches and they started in good form, beating Thirsk 3-1 with goals coming from Tilly Crampsie, Lucy Peperrell and Tilly Brown.
After their opening win, the girls came up against a tough Surbiton side, who beat them 2-0 before facing Cambridge City in their last qualification match.
Much like the previous two games, the girls played some high quality hockey and goals from Estelle Palmer, Kiera Foster and Eva Barnett handed Marlow a 3-1 win to set up a third place play-off against Clifton. Despite again playing some good hockey, Marlow could not covert that pressure into goals as they lost 2-0 to finish fourth.
