More than 100 men and women of all ages took part in social games of touch rugby, hosted by Maidenhead Mohawks, at Maidenhead Rugby Club to raise funds for charity on Thursday, June 13.

The event proved to be a fantastic success raising approximately £800 for two charities: Little Fishes Pre-School based in Furze Platt and Jason Leonard’s Atlas Foundation.

Jason Leonard OBE added: “I’m delighted that the Atlas Foundation is so well supported by the touch rugby tournament.

“Atlas uses rugby and the rugby family around the world to help kids deal with some of the biggest issues that they face, including violence,  hunger and lack of education.

“We help over 24,000 kids a week in 16 countries from Argentina to Zimbabwe find a better life through rugby.

“Touch Rugby is a great way to start or stay involved with rugby, its sociable and its easy to pick up and improve your skills and fitness.

“Rugby people are big hearted people, and that is shown by the tournament players being such generous supporters of different charities, including Atlas.”
