Maidenhead United have wished the Chippenham fan who had a medical episode in the stands on Saturday all the best for a speedy recovery.
Physios from both clubs raced to the supporter’s aid, having been alerted to the situation by Maidenhead and Chippenham supporters.
Having been treated the fan felt sufficiently well enough to leave Hardenhuish Park on his own accord.
Maidenhead United went on to lose the match 1-0 thanks to a thumping first half penalty from Harry Parsons.
After the match Maidenhead United posted: “Thank you to the travelling Mags for their vigilance this afternoon in alerting to the medical incident involving a home supporter.
“The supporter has been assessed by medical staff at the ground and left the ground on his own accord.
“Everyone at Maidenhead United would like to wish them a speedy recovery.”
Ryan Peters also passed on his best wishes to the spectator and thanked Maidenhead fans for sticking by their team on a difficult afternoon.
“The fans were brilliant and there was no need for them to be so good because we were dreadful,” he said.
“They always are and I’m hoping the fan is ok.”
