Marlow handed home draw against Larkhall Athletic in FA Trophy

Marlow will face Larkhall Athletic at home in the first round of the FA Trophy after the draw was made at Wembley this afternoon.

Manager Mark Bartley had been hoping for a home draw after his side were pushed all the way by Westfield in Saturday's 4-3 victory at Oak Tree Road.

The Blues' success this season has been built on their solid defence and, while their backline was found wanting at times on Saturday, they had enough ammunition further up the field to book their place in the next round.

Once again Nnamdi Nwachuku played a pivotal role, netting twice, while Junaid Bell thumped home a magnificent free kick to level matters before half-time. Devontae Romeo got the Blues crucial third in the second half and Nwachuku grabbed his second before Westfield hit back in the closing stages to make a real game of it.

With reserve goalkeeper Phil Brown pulling off a couple of late saves, the Blues emerged victorious and will now fancy their chances of making further progress against a Larkhall side currently sitting eighth in Southern League Division 1 South.

The teams will meet at Oak Tree Road on Saturday, November 13 (3pm kick-off).

Tickets are £9 for adults and £5 for concessions and £1 for u16s.

Binfield and Bracknell Town were also both in this afternoon's draw with Binfield to take on Cinderford Town at home and Bracknell to entertain either Tiverton Town or Swindon Supermarine.

The first-round draw features 78 teams and winning clubs will receive £3,000 from the FA's prize fund.
