Bristol Bam were crowned winners of the seventh Maidenhead Softball Club ‘Hit and Run’ tournament this weekend.
The tournament takes place every year after the clubs' playing season with eight teams taking part in a round-robin format.
Four teams take part from the local Maidenhead & District Softball league with four others travelling from surrounding leagues to play.
A number of very close games were settled by less than four runs, but Maidenhead's Rascals were the only team to make it out of the group stages in the cup competition.
In rather one-sided semi-finals the MK Diamonds and Bristol Bam defeated High Voltage and the Rascals to meet in the final. In a well contested final Bristol clung on to beat the Diamonds 15-13. In the final of the Shield competition last year's Cup winners PSL All-Stars finally found their true form to beat the Bracknell Scorchers 27-5.
