Holyport’s Harry King has been nominated alongside some of the other pacesetters in motorsport for Autosport’s National Driver of the Year.
In his rookie season in the competition King cruised to victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup, winning all but a handful of the races he took part in and missing out on just one pole position in qualifying.
Harry took 12 wins from 16 races, set 13 fastest laps and was unbeaten in qualifying until the final races at Brands Hatch. With Team Parker Racing behind him the Porsche GB Junior driver was in spectacular form and got every last bit of performance from his Porsche car.
He’s up against British Touring Car stars Ash Sutton and Colin Turkington, and British GT’s Phil Keen. The 2020 edition of the awards will take place online with increased digital coverage.
Turkington won the award last season and has taken the prize on three occasions. Other winners include BTCC champions Jason Plato, Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden as well as current McLaren F1 star Lando Norris.
Autosport.com subscribers and magazine readers will be able to vote for the nominee who they think has performed best across various categories this season. The winners will be announced across multiple platforms in December.
