Singh Sabha 3, Wraysbury Village 0
Singh Sabha progressed to the East Berkshire League Cup final against FC Beaconsfield on Bank Holiday Monday after claiming a convincing 3-0 win over Wraysbury Village.
Sabha came into the clash off the back of their Slough Town Cup Final success and they had a great chance to take the lead midway through the half when Mubarak Bashir was bundled over in the penalty area. Bashir stepped up to take the spot kick himself, but the effort was a weak one and easily saved by the Wraysbury stopper.
But Bashir made amends before the break, intercepting a poor back pass to lob the ball past the onrushing keeper.
Hasan Mahmood and Mampreet Randhawa missed gilt edged chances to make the half-time lead more comfortable, but they gave themselves breathing space in the second half when Umar Riaz deflected the ball over the keeper to make it 2-0.Sabha then wrapped up their place in the final when substitute Mandeep Rai was found by Raj Gill’s ball over the top and he made no mistake, rounding the keeper before slotting home.
They’ll meet FC Beaconsfield in Monday’s final after their 3-2 win over Delaford after extra-time. Having already lifted the Maidenhead Norfolkian Cup and Slough Town Cup, Sabha are on for an impressive treble.
Elsewhere Sabha’s Sunday side recorded a rare league win as they beat bottom of the table Slough United 5-2. Mubarak Bashir and Mampreet Randhawa both scored twice with Honey Riyat getting his name on the scoresheet. It warmed the side up nicely for tomorrow’s Bob Smith Cup Final against Datchet.
