This season’s county cup competitions may have bitten the dust because of coronavirus, however, the spirit of them is alive and well thanks to Football in Berkshire.
The website has organised an online version of the competition, the Berkshire Virtual County FA Cup, which has seen 64 teams from across Berkshire battle it out to lift a virtual trophy.
With the country in lockdown this is the closest most supporters are going to come to seeing their club win silverware this season.
The 64 teams have been drawn into 16 groups of four and the winners of each match has been decided by a public vote on twitter.
The second round of matches got underway last weekend, with many local clubs, including Maidenhead United, still in the hunt for glory.
To get involved, and to put your club in the virtual hat for the next round, visit Football in Berkshire’s twitter page @fiberkshire
