The Berks & Bucks FA this week announced the death of its president Bill Gosling at the age of 91, saying he ‘will be greatly missed’.
Bill had a long and proud history working within football and for the FA, and had been president of the Berks & Bucks FA division since 2002.
Before becoming president he held several other positions within the organisation. He was a council member, chairman of the discipline committee and company secretary from 1983-1997.
He was also heavily involved in the game outside of the county FA where he served as the president of the North Berks Football League.
A statement from the Berks & Bucks FA said: “Bill’s contribution to local football has been immeasurable and his passing will be felt greatly by all who knew and loved him across the game. He will be greatly missed.
Liz Verrall, CEO at Berks & Bucks FA, said: "I have many fond memories of Bill over the years, a friendly, supportive and knowledgeable person with a great sense of humour. He has given so much to football in the local community. He will be missed by all who met him and worked with him our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time."
