Berks County continue to lead the way in the Thames Valley Premier Division, but Finchampstead’s surprise 1-0 victory over the league leaders on Monday night means they top the table on goal difference only.
County were 4-0 winners over Newbury on Saturday and still have three matches in hand over their closest rivals.
Maidenhead Town sit sixth in the table after Saturday’s 3-1 win at Westwood Wanderers and Monday’s goalless home draw with Windlesham & Chobham. Laurence Henry, James Rattenbury and Aleks Yankov were on target in the victory over Westwood.
Marlow United were beaten 3-2 at home by Richings Park on Saturday, with Neil Austin’s brace for the hosts eclipsed by Ricky Caves’ hat-trick for the visitors. United are 11th in the table two places above Cookham Dean who were beaten 4-2 by Marlow on Wednesday last week and lost 2-1 at Wraysbury Village on Saturday.
