Maidenhead's Katie Crowhurst has been selected as part of a 20-strong squad by Great Britain Para Swimming to compete in the final leg of the World Series in Berlin this month.
This will be Katie's first international competition for Great Britain abroad and is something she's been working towards since she started para swimming in 2013.
The team travelled to Italy this week for pre-event training before the competition gets underway in Berlin from Thursday to Sunday (June 6-9). Katie, 15, is the youngest member of the British squad and will be competing in nine events, taking on competitors of all ages and disabilities from around the world.
Winners will be decided on a points system which calculates how close a swimmer is to the world record time for that event and in their disability category.
Katie, who hopes to gain some valuable experience and is excited to wear her GB kit, hopes to come away from Berlin with some new fastest times having made her mark as an up-and-coming swimmer in a world event.
