Mark Bartley believes Marlow have the ambitions of mounting a serious title challenge in the South Central Division this year after showing signs of promise during last season.
The Blues were making good progress for a top half finish before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic with no promotions or relegations.
Bartley’s Blues will now face off against a familiar set of opponents including title favourites Hanwell Town and Ware.
However, with several new signings made and a strengthened first team, Bartley is confident the Blues can go all the way in this year’s campaign.
“I think we’ve got a lot of belief in ourselves as a squad,” said Bartley.
“There are a lot of good sides in this league and there will probably be six or seven sides that will probably be scrapping it out at the top end. There’s also another two or three sides that will go into this season believing they can win it and we’re definitely one of them.
“We know that to be successful you need a bit of luck and we’re going to need that at times. Hopefully we can be a bit more fortunate with injuries than we have been before but we’re confident that if we keep working hard, we can have a decent season.
“Hanwell Town and Ware were quite a way ahead of everyone last season so we need to try and bridge that gap and I think that’s what we’re focused on doing.”
