Spencer Meredith (left) has moved on from the Royalists.
Mark Cooper is delighted to welcome James Pritchard to Windsor FC, as the former Marlow United boss joins the management team for the 2021/22 Combined Counties campaign.
Pritchard will work alongside Cooper and first team coach Luke Brooks-Smith as assistant manager after Spencer Meredith was announced to have moved on from the role due to work commitments.
The ex-Flying Blues boss has a wealth of experience in management and has also represented Slough Town, Flackwell Heath, Maidenhead United and Marlow as a player.
“After my old assistant (Meredith) stepped down at the end of last season due to work commitments, it was a good opportunity to bring in someone who knows the game at local level as well as James,” said Cooper.
“He’s played for Maidenhead, he’s played a huge amount for Marlow, and he’s someone I’ve known for 25 years.
“I’m really looking forward to working with him over the coming season.”
Windsor got their pre-season schedule underway on Tuesday night with a friendly against Chalfont St Peter.
Just one goal separated the two sides at full-time with the Royalists succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at Westfield Academy.
“It was a competitive and entertaining game, and although we lost 1-0, these games aren’t really about the results,” said Cooper.
“My priority is making sure the players are sharp and they don’t pick up any unnecessary injuries.”
The race to get as many people vaccinated against coronavirus has ramped up in the Royal Borough and Slough amidst an ongoing rise in cases across the country.
