Families will be able to learn more about the Royal Patronages through craft activities at Windsor Castle this half term.
Visitors will explore how The King and other members of the Royal Family help charities and organisations through Royal Patronages.
This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Royal National Life Institution (RNLI), a charity which saves lives at sea and is supported through the Royal Patronages.
Each day during the upcoming February half term, youngsters will enjoy some creative crafting at the castle’s Pug Yard Learning Centre.
Inspired by the work of the RNLI, children will be able to create a momento to take home such as a winter sea collage or a rocking lifeboat.
Whilst on a tour of the State Apartments, youngsters can also follow a family trail to discover more about Royal Patronages and charities that are supported by the Royal Family and find the charity mascots, which are hidden throughout the apartments.
The activities take place each day from Saturday, February 10 until Sunday, February 18 from 10am to 3pm.
Those visiting the castle will also be able to see the display in the Waterloo Chamber celebrating the centenary of Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House.
Visitors will get a closer look at the miniature items which are usually contained within the Dolls’ House.
Items range from a tiny grand piano, to a miniature sewing machine and vacuum cleaner.
