Maidenhead Boys & Girls FC
A strike from Declan Pinto and an own goal from Owen Smyth’s corner helped Maidenhead Boys & Girls u15s Colts to a 2-1 home win over Sandhurst Town Reds on Saturday. Jake Stanley was named player of the match for his influential display in midfield, getting the ball down and linking up play well in the second half.
Elsewhere the u18s Santos side were also victorious, beating AFC Henley Hotspur 4-3 at home.
There was also a feeding frenzy for the u14s Sharks, who beat Whiteknight Wizards 7-4 at home in EBFA Group 12.
A fine week for the club continued with the u13s Dolphins winning 4-2 away at Maidenhead United Development Blacks in Group 6 and the u13s Foxes winning a crazy game of football 9-8 away to Hearts of Teddlothian Harriers in group 10.
The u13s Panthers also battled well in difficult conditions to beat AFC Henley Hotspur 2-1 in EBFA group 10. A great individual goal from Rowan Sellman handed them the lead and it was doubled by Harry James’ towering header from a Rory Milne corner. Henley pulled a goal back as the Panthers tired and were hindered by injuries late on, but they held on to win. Callum Marquez in goal and Noah Towers-Goodman, Will Howarth, Billy O’Brien and Harry Willett in defence were all magnificent in what the coach described as the team’s ‘best display of the season’. Billy was named player of the match for an excellent display in a position he doesn’t often play in.
Further down the age groups there was a 4-0 defeat for the u12s Dragons at the hands of Caversham AFC Arrows in BYDL Division 1 while the u12s Jaguars also lost 3-1 to Caversham Trents Golds in BYDL Division 2. The u12s Gorls drew 2-2 at home to Wokingham & Emmbrook Tigresses in Cup Group A with Eden Brooke scoring both of their goals.
The u13s Girls won 6-2 at home against Tilehurst Panthers Reds in Cup Group A, while Rebecca Hesketh and Georgina Evans netted in the u15s Girls’ 4-2 home defeat to Laurel Park Diamonds in Cup Group A.
The u18s Girls also lost their TVCWFL Division North game 3-1 away at Summertown Stars.
Thames Valley Development League
Following the suspension of play over much of the winter, the Thames Valley Football Development League has extended its season to the end of June, while a couple of additional competitions, to be played in a round-robin format, have also been organised.
There was a convincing 6-0 win for Slough Town Juniors over the Golden Eagles in the u12s Subsidiary Cup Competition this weekend, while the Marish Wizards Reds also netted six goals in a 6-2 home win over Harefield United Youth.
Only one game was played in the u12s Subsidiary Plate competition, with Chalfont Saints United drawing 3-3 with Singh Sabha.
In Division 2 of the u12s league, Townmead returned to the top of the table with an impressive 7-4 victory over Berkshire Elite. FC Holyport Warriors defeated Thames Valley Youth 5-2 away from home, with Thames Valley managing a couple of late consolation goals.
In Division 3 FC Cippenham Leopards were 4-1 winners over Fronline at home while the Golden Eagles Flyers edged a tight game with Maidenhead United Cobras 3-2. The Eagles surged into a two-goal lead in the second half, but a late Cobras strike set up a nail-biting conclusion.
