Maidenhead United Juniors
The warm weather finally made an appearance at the very end of a 2020/21 season that's produced some memorable moments for Maidenhead United Juniors.
The u9s Braves produced one of their best displays to date, with Drian scoring a hat-trick in a tournament game against Holyport FC at Summerleaze.
The u9s Juniors continued their successful season with a 2-1 win over Chalfont St Peter Cheetahs, making it through to the knockout stages in the process.
The side netted twice in the first half to give themselves some breathing space, before the Cheetahs replied to set up a nervy finish.
Player of the match went to the whole side for their hard work.
Maidenhead Boys & Girls FC
Maidenhead Boys and Girls FC u13s Panthers scored six goals, but still ended up on the losing side in their 10-6 loss to Ashridge Park Royals in Group 10 of the EBFA May Event.
However, this doesn't tell the full story as they played nine against 11 for most of the match and made life difficult for their opponents in a competitive clash.
Harry James scored twice and Rowan Sellman and a first of the season for Adem Aitkaci kept them in contention while two players lent from Ashridge also found the net.
Noah Towers-Goodman was named man of the match for his defensive efforts, but Rory Milne suffered a broken collarbone after a bad challenge.
Elsewhere the u18s Santos side won their u18s Group 6 match with Fleet Town Colts Youth Pumas 4-3 at home, but the u17s Boys went down to a heavy 8-3 defeat to Hearts of Teddlothian in their Group 4 game.
Ben Thompson scored a wonder goal in the u15s Colts 4-1 home defeat to Finchampstead Dynamos in Group 11. Goalkeeper Freddie Nash and Hisham Nadeem were jointly named men of the match.
The u13s Dolphins won their group six match 5-1 away at Rotherfield United Raptors while the u13s Foxes won 7-4 away at AFC Henley Hotspur in Group 10.
The u12s Dragosn lost 4-0 to Wokingham & Emmbrook Oranges in BYDL Division 1 and the u12s Jaguars went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Purley Jubilee Lions in Division 2.
Thames Valley Youth Development League
Alex Saunders scored twice as Chalfont Saints United defeated FC Cippenham Leopards 3-2 in the final of the TVFDL u12s Subsidiary Plate final.
Saints United stormed into a 3-0 half-time lead with Saunders scoring the first two and Elliot Lang getting the third. Cippenham clawed their way back into contention with two goals in the second half to set up a tense finish, but Chalfont held on for victory.
In the Subsidiary Cup final Slough Town Juniors were emphatic 7-0 winners over Marish Wizards Reds. Slough were clinical in the first half, netting five goals without reply and, while Marish enjoyed more possession and territory after the break, they weren’t able to get on the scoresheet and Slough added two more goals to rubber-stamp their dominance.
The changes could see Colnbrook with Poyle, Langley Kedermister and Foxborough wards moved from Slough to the Windsor parliamentary constituency.
