Thief jailed for stealing petrol and dangerous driving

A petrol thief from Windsor has been jailed for stealing fuel from garage forecourts and for dangerous driving.

Charmaine Reed, of Clewer New Town, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court sitting at Reading Magistrates' Court on Tuesday last week.

She finally surrendered after an arrest warrant was issued when she failed to turn up for sentencing on January 7 at the same court.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty in October to making off without paying four times when stealing a total of £140 of fuel.

She stole it from petrol stations in Langley, Colnbrook and Beaconsfield on different dates throughout August.

Reed was handed 20 weeks for dangerous driving and disqualified from driving for one year, and given four weeks for each petrol stealing offence, and 14 days for failing to surrender.

All are to run concurrently.
