The mayor came face-to-face with his own 'mini-me' for a few moments when 12th Windsor scouts paid a visit.
Young Edward Simmonds, 12, got to try on the full mayoral regalia when he and his fellow scouts visited the Guildhall on Friday.
The visit was part of the scouts' list of 'must dos' to win their community badge. They had already contributed to the Windsor Facelift by cleaning an empty shop back in the autumn.
Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead Cllr Colin Rayner and mayoress Samantha Rayner hosted the event along with mayor's officer Mark Blackshaw, new town crier Chris Brown and Amelia Evans from the Borough Museum.
The scouts enjoyed a tour and history lesson, visiting the museum next door to the Guildhall to learn about Windsor’s history and artefacts.
The mayor - a former sea scout - organised a game for the scouts based around the parts of a ship.
