Speaking on BBC television's The Sunday Politics Show yesterday Windsor MP Adam Afriyie said he has 'no leadership ambition'.

Mr Afriyie has been touted by some as a potential candidate to replace Conservative party PM David Cameron should he move on before or after the next general election.

He told BBC One presenter Andrew Neil yesterday morning he would not 'speculate' on the issue, but also refused to agree there was 'no doubt' Mr Cameron would be leader in 2015.

The Old Windsor resident said: "I have no ambition to lead my party and I have no ambition for any particular position."

Mr Afriyie also said he was working with a 'large group' of Tory MPs to create a 'Conservative Britain' for the future.
