New events and the return of some old favourites will make this year's 70th anniversary Royal Windsor Horse Show an equestrian affair to remember.
The first new event is the International Endurance Competition. It will cover more than 120km in Windsor Great Park consisting of four loops of differing distances. It has been sponsored by Bahrain, one of the many countries whose riders will be among the 60 taking part.
Also new to the schedule this year is the University Challenge – an opportunity for university jumping teams of three to compete.
But alongside the new events two displays making a welcome return are the musical drive of the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery and the musical ride of the The Household Cavalry.
Old favourites include the Shetland Pony Grand National, the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games, the Coaching Marathon, the Meet of Hounds and the Household Cavalry Best Turned Out Trooper.
The show boasts 151 showing classes and 22 jumping classes, taking place across four arenas in the private grounds of Windsor Castle from Wednesday, May 8 until Sunday, May 12.
Tickets are available on www.rwhs.co.uk or by phoning 0844 5814960 from the UK, or over the counter at Windsor Information Centre in the Windsor Royal Shopping Centre.
