At about 5.30pm the men smashed the locked front door at Robert Gatward jewellers in King Edward Court - bursting into the shop in front of four members of staff and two customers.
They were armed with sledgehammers and axes and were in the shop for just over half a minute, getting into the Rolex room and grabbing a large number of watches.
They were all wearing black burkas which covered their faces.
The men ran from the scene towards Fenwicks over the footbridge crossing Charles Street and came out in the grounds of the Ward Royal flats.
They then got into a light green vehicle similar to a small Vauxhall Corsa or Astra and drove away at speed on Arthur Road.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery.
If you have any information contact Detective Sergeant Peter Wall of Maidenhead CID via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
