A new attempt is being made to redevelop the old Windsor Ex-Services Club.
Developers SG Investments have put in a new planning application to flatten the old building in St Leonard's Road, replacing it with six three storey town houses and a new ex-services club.
The old club closed its doors in June. It had been built in 1918 as a hospital and was becoming increasingly run down.
Members were told that they would get a smart new club as part of the planned redevelopment. But the whole scheme stalled when an application by the developers to build eight town houses and a new club on the site was thrown out by Royal Borough planning councillors, who felt too many homes were being 'shoe horned' in.
The new plan by SG Investments cuts the number of homes by a quarter and will be discussed by the planning committee within the next few weeks.
