Tourist agency Visit Britain has rated Windsor as the 20th most popular place in 2012 for overseas visitors to experience.
Research found 182,000 people visited the town, which ranked below neighbouring Reading in 19th with 196,000, who overtook Windsor in the top 50.
London was top with 15,461 million overseas visitors while Edinburgh was second most popular with 1,256 million.
Last year more than 31 million people visited Great Britain from across the globe, a rise of one per cent on 2011.
